Do You Have an Alcohol Problem? If You Answer Yes to Just One of These Questions Then You Do
Sorry to break the news but you may have a problem with alcohol. Even if you’re pretty sure you’re not an alcoholic you’d better think again about your drinking if you answer Yes to just one of the following questions.
Do you ever worry that you tend to drink too much?
Have any of your friends or family told you they’re worried about your drinking?
Can you drink a lot without feeling drunk?
Do you feel you need to drink more to get the same effect you used to get?
If you’ve tried to stop drinking, did you find you couldn’t do it for more than two or three days?
Do your drinking habits adversely affect your work, your family or other relationships?
Do you ever drink before midday?
Do you get shaky hands, feel sweaty or anxious hours after your last drink?
Do you have memory blanks after drinking, where you can’t remember things you said, saw or did over a period of hours?
Do you feel your judgement is affected by alcohol so that you do things that you wouldn’t do when sober? Examples are being aggressive, picking arguments or having sex with people you wouldn’t choose to sleep with when sober.
You said No to every one? Congratulations. Pour yourself a nice glass of wine.
But if you answered Yes to any of these questions, you have an alcohol problem. If you answered Yes to several, you have quite a bad alcohol problem.
