There are some key questions that you should ask before making a final decision as to the type of treatment that will be best and what treatment center is going to provide the most effective treatment for yourself or a loved one. Some of the things you will want to know include the type of treatment that is offered, how many staff members there are and also whether the treatment has been effective for others.
Here’s a look at some questions you should ask prior to choosing a treatment center to provide drug addiction treatment for yourself or a loved one:
What type of treatments are offered and are those treatment evidence based?
Have the treatments that are used at the treatment center been shown to work in clinical trials?
Are the treatments provided at the treatment center up to date on the best practices?
How are treatments tailored to fit the individual needs of each patient?
Is a one size fits all approach to treatment used? (make sure that this answer is NO)
Is the treatment program adapted to meet the needs of the patient as those needs change throughout the program? (you want this answer to be YES)
How is the treatment adapted to meet the continuously changing needs of the patient throughout treatment?
How long is the treatment program? (make sure that you aim for a program that is at least 3 months as this is the program length that has been proven to be most effective)
