What Happens at Drug Treatment?

Where will I live during drug treatment?

That all depends on the type of treatment that you seek. How do I Know Drug Treatment Will Actually Work?

Unfortunately, there is no 100% guarantee that a single drug treatment center program will work for each individual. However, drug treatment, in general will be effective if you are ready for treatment, willing to accept treatment or take part in treatment and work at it. Even those who do not want drug treatment or who are apprehensive about drug treatment can benefit from the effects of drug treatment over time. If a drug treatment center guarantees that you will be “cured” of your addiction by attending the program at their facility consider choosing a different program.

What Happens after Drug Treatment?

So you enter drug treatment, get the help you need, now what? What comes after drug treatment is largely up to you but may include aftercare and a follow up treatment plan. The most effective drug treatment centers include follow up treatment for addiction. This can greatly reduce the chance of relapse. If you aren’t sure what happens after drug treatment, talk to the treatment center about your options post treatment. Make sure that you have a plan in place to assure that you are on the right track and have support after you complete drug treatment. Consider support groups, sober living and other post treatment options.
