The long-term effects of excessive alcohol consumption include severe anxiety, hallucinations, and convulsions and may produce withdrawal symptoms. Alcohol consumption when combined with unhealthy eating habits can lead to permanent damage to the vital organs of the body like the liver and the brain. Pregnant women who are under alcohol addiction are at a risk of giving birth to infants that are retarded or other such physical abnormalities. The concerning factor is that all these abnormalities of the infant cannot be reversed.
Moreover, these people are at a greater risk of being influenced by other fatal addictions like the drug addiction and also indulge in creating social crimes.
