The number of teenagers and adults influenced under the substance abuse is greatly increasing worldwide. Substance abuse largely affects the physical and the mental state of a person. Substance abuse affects the body of an individual depending on various the factors like the age, gender, quantity of the drugs taken on regular basis etc.

Therefore, when it comes to treating teens for substance abuse, it must be kept in mind that teenagers are not little adults. The sign and symptoms of substance abuse is revealed in teenagers when they display poor school performance, fail in school grade or get involved in judicial problems by indulging in illegal activities and cause accidents.

Therefore, treating teens and adults for substance abuse needs to be dealt with; by experimenting on proper medical and behavioral therapies, those are appropriate for their age groups. For teenagers, the treatment for substance abuse includes their family and school in the treatment process.
